BAC Cataloguing Grant 2026 - Deadline extension to 5 Aug
Deadline extension: the application deadline has been extended to Wednesday 5 August.
The Business Archive Council’s (BAC) Cataloguing Grant for business archives is back for 2026, and we’re looking for the next business archive collection to unlock.
This year, we’re offering a single award of £6,000 to fund the cataloguing of a business archive collection — or collections — in either the private or public sector.
What’s the grant for? It’s designed to do four key things:
Provide financial support for institutions and businesses that manage business archives
Reach collections that haven’t yet been prioritised, but have real academic, socio-historical, and wider public value
Create opportunities for archivists, paraprofessionals, and volunteers to gain hands-on experience cataloguing business collections
Make more business archive collections accessible — so they can be discovered, used, and enjoyed
If you’re interested in applying, or you want to learn more about eligibility, criteria, and the application process, please visit the BAC website for full details. If you’ve applied before, you’re welcome to apply again. https://businessarchivescouncil.org.uk/activitiesobjectives/catgrant/
A couple of quick points to note:
BAC won’t award a grant to the same institution within three years.
Applications will be assessed by a BAC Cataloguing Grant Panel, made up of two Executive Committee members and one non-executive member. Panel members won’t assess any application where they have a research or employment connection.
Thanks and we look forward to receiving your applications
