Winner of the BAC Wadsworth Prize Announced

The winner of the 2011 Business Archives Council Wadsworth Prize for British Business History is Duncan Campbell-Smith for his study of the Royal Mail.  The Business Archives Council awarded the Wadsworth Prize in Business History for books published in 2011 at a reception held at the The Baring Archive on 8 November 2012.

BT Archives launch online survey of their catalogue

In January 2012 BT Archives, Coventry University and The National Archives launched New Connections - a JISC funded project to digitise 500,000 items from the history of communications.

New Connections will launch a new website and new ways to access BT Archives in 2013.

Please tell let BT Archives know what you most want to see from the new BT e-Archive by taking our short survey at www.bt.com/archivesonline - all participants will go into at draw to win £50 of Amazon vouchers. The survey will close on 10th September 2012.

2012 BAC Cataloguing Grant Winner announced

The judging panel on behalf of the Council has awarded the 2012 BAC Cataloguing Grant to Durham County Record Office for the cataloguing of archives of Consett Iron Company and its subsidiary companies.

BAC Journals Digitised

BAC members can now access past copies of the Journal back to 1965 by logging into the Members’ Area and clicking on “Journals”. SDS Heritage have kindly digitised these volumes at no cost to the BAC.

Launch of New Connections project at BT Archives

Coventry University in partnership with BT Archives and The National Archives have been awarded funding by JISC towards the New Connections project to digitise, catalogue and develop a searchable online catalogue of BT Archives collections.
